Four months after work came to a halt on its massive Colman Yards project, Milwaukee-based J. Jeffers & Co. is no closer to getting back on track.
J. Jeffers said it had “experienced challenges” and fired the project’s general contractor in late December. The company said it was working to hire an experienced Rockford-based general contractor to take over.
Company officials said they were targeting an announcement naming a new, local general contractor by the end of March. Work was to resume by the end of April…
