BELOIT — Beloit College’s track at Strong Stadium provided the setting for some outstanding efforts in the annual Northern Illinois Invitational on Friday night.
Host Hononegah picked up varsity firsts from the 4×200 team of Calvin Clowes, Sam Hagg, Ryan Fritsch and Chase Cutler (1:28.21, seventh fastest currently in Illinois), Coen Lee in the 300 hurdles (39.49 PR), Cutler in the 200 (21.63), Jake Benson in the shot put (56-feet, 4.75 inches) and Ben Klink in the triple jump (42-04.25).
The Indians definitely have talent in the pipeline as their frosh-soph team came away with five first places. The champions included Logan Wilson (110-meter high hurdles), Grayson Schomburg (400), Jack McLarty (1600), Ryan Fritsch (200) and Cole Cooper (pole vault)…
