Courthouse permit fee sparks ‘big wedge’ between Boone County, Belvidere leaders

The structure has stood since 1855, but leaders across the area push for its facelift.

“Anybody who’s in somewhat the know, knows that they’ve had buckets above the ceilings and courtrooms for years, collecting rainwater,“ says Karl Johnson, Boone County chairperson.
