BELOIT – Marion Thornberry of Belvidere had his bags pack and he was ready for a ride of a lifetime Sunday morning.
Thornberry was one of 220 veterans who are on their way to Washington, D.C. as part of 14th VetsRoll program. The veterans are offered the free trip to the nation’s capital to view the war memorials, as well as sites such as Arlington Cemetery, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Lincoln Memorial and more.
