I’m asking for myself because I’ve seen way too many people blow through red lights in Rockford lately—way more than usual.
The older we get, the most it seems like we forget how to drive on the road. We started making up our own rules, disobeying street signs, and blowing through red lights like it’s not illegal. Why?
I’ve always told myself, “Nothing is important enough to drive recklessly” and I stand by that every day when I’m sharing the road with others. If someone honks at me right when my light turns green, I do take a few seconds before accelerating into the intersection because I know darn well someone is going to speed through the intersection like they’ve got somewhere to be that’s so, so important. Sure, there are emergencies, but to voluntarily drive recklessly? Not a good look.
Why Do People Love Running Red Lights In Rockford?
I’m not saying all Rockford drivers suck, but there’s a good percentage who are pretty careless on the roads. That’s why we need refresher courses every few years to remember the rules of the road! It’s crazy that it’s not already mandatory in Illinois considering all the accidents we have every single day.
Listen, Rockford already has too much going on. For the sake of everyone, please stop running red lights because you left the house late. Please, please, please be vigilant of others on the road. It’s not cool to be distracted while driving, period…
