Multiple storm chances ahead for the Rockford region

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – It has been a very pleasant Father’s Day. We have had a few showers try to sneak into the region, but not much was actually able to sustain thanks to a relatively dry and stable lower and mid-atmosphere air. We’ll continue that trend heading overnight tonight with a decreasing cloud cover into the morning hours. If any rain manages to fall, it will likely be very light. Lows will drop to the lower 60s.

Monday will start off partly to mostly cloudy, followed by a good amount of afternoon sunshine. Dew points will jump to the mid-60s making our highs in the upper 80s feel like the lower 90s. While we may see a few storms try to develop in the afternoon, a stiff upper level cap…..
