Tracking a hot start to an active week for the Rockford region

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Yet another record has been broken today. Temperatures only got down to a low of 77 degrees, breaking our previous record warmest low of 73 degrees set in 1908. I think it will be the same story tonight. Lows will be in the middle to upper 70s with our previous record coming the same year, this time at 74 degrees.

Monday is shaping up to be hot once again. Temperatures may tick up by a few degrees because the moisture at the surface will start to mix out through the upper atmosphere. This will drop dew points by a few degrees, but the increase in temperatures will still put our heat index into the triple digits. Highs will reach the middle to upper 90s with plenty of…..
