ILLINOIS — A known gang member from Rockford has been sentenced to 78 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges related to drug trafficking and firearm possession, according to federal prosecutors.
Jovino Ramirez, 35, was arrested during a traffic stop in May 2024, during which he was found to be in possession of narcotics and a loaded handgun.
Drugs and Gun Found During Traffic Stop
Authorities say Ramirez was pulled over by police and attempted to conceal narcotics during the stop. Officers recovered 19.1 grams of cocaine and 1.9 grams of methamphetamine, both hidden inside the vehicle.
