Even as an adult, there are still some things that will happen that send me right back to when I was 8 years old. One of those moments is seeing a street sweeper coming through the neighborhood.
When I was a kid, it was a memorable experience anytime I would see this big monster-looking contraption powering down the road with its large brushes and massive vacuums, leaving a clean street.
I have to admit it’s on my bucket list to drive a street sweeper someday, so I may need to reach out to the City of Rockford, which will be sweeping residential streets next week.
Crews Target Northwest Quadrants of the City
The City of Rockford’s Street Division will begin sweeping several residential neighborhoods during the week of June 30, 2025.
According to the press release, crews will focus on areas between the city limits and the Rock River, covering from Auburn Street to Halsted Road.
