Baby boomers to blame for low housing inventory in Rockford, realtors say

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Those interested in buying a home in the Rockford region may have a tough time with fewer options on the market and rising prices.

In May, just 159 properties were up for sale, down from 229 last year. The NorthWest Illinois Alliance of REALTORS says May marked the third lowest inventory since stats were first collected for the area in 1998.
