(WIFR) – We’ve had a cell come through Winnebago county this afternoon, dropping some heavy rainfall and a few strong gusts of winds. This is a bit of a precursor for this evening. A line of showers and thunderstorms are just making it’s way across the Mississippi River as I’m typing this. These storms will reach the region around 6 to 8 this evening. I do think they should be in a bit of a weakening phase though, but some stronger to severe storms aren’t out of the question. Winds are the primary threat along with some localized heavy rainfall and flooding.
