4 siblings, another man arrested following series of armed robberies in Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – An investigation into three armed robberies in Rockford leads to the arrests of four siblings and another man.

The suspects are:

  • Marquel Woodson, 21, of Rockford
  • Two counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, possession of firearm without a FOID card and a possession of machine gun warrant out of Indiana
  • Elijah Woodson, 22, of Rockford
  • Armed robbery and vehicle theft warrant out of Cook County
  • Maurice Woodson, 23, of Rockford
  • Unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, obstructing justice
  • Swennekia Woodson, 18, of Rockford
  • Possession of cannabis with intent to deliver (more than 89 grams)
  • Omareon Loper, 22, of Rockford
  • Failure to appear warrant – DUI

Police say their investigation began in late December 2024 after someone was robbed at gunpoint during an arranged cannabis sale in the 400 block of Harrison Avenue.

About a month later on Jan. 30, someone was robbed at gunpoint in the 800 block of Seventh Street. A third robbery was reported Feb. 6 in the 1100 block of Railroad Avenue. In these two incidents, the victims were reportedly followed by the suspects before they were robbed…
