Rockton native Corey Anderson wins by TKO in PFL South Africa fight

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — Rockton native Corey Anderson has demonstrated again that he is one of the best MMA fighters in the world, regardless of weight division. Saturday in Cape Town, South Africa he won his Professional Fighters League (PFL) debut with a second round TKO of Russia’s Denis Goltsov.Goltsov is a former PFL heavyweight world champion. Anderson, who won the Bellator (now defunct) light heavyweight world championship in his last bout more than a year ago, moved up to heavyweight for this fight. Despite the added weight (239lbs.) Anderson dominated this fight.Goltsov landed a couple jabs with his long, left arm to Anderon’s right eye early in the first round, but Anderson was able to shake those off, put his body on Goltsov’s body, and turn the fight into a wrestling match which is Anderson’s strength.Anderson backed Goltsov against the cage midway through the first round and then dropped him to the mat and landed several punches to Goltsov’s face.In the second…..
