2 Rockford men arrested after deputies investigate reported sales of cocaine and fentanyl

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A tip to Winnebago County deputies about people selling drugs leads to the arrest of two Rockford men.

Cornealious Wells, 49, is charged with:

  • Possession with intent to deliver 400-900 grams of fentanyl
  • Possession with intent to deliver more than 900 grams of cocaine
  • Possession with intent to deliver 100-400 grams of heroin
  • possession of ammunition without a FOID card

Jerickoe Simmons, 38, is charged with:

  • Possession with intent to deliver 100-400 grams of cocaine
  • Delivery of 15-100 grams of cocaine.

In May, the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit says it learned about people selling large amounts of fentanyl and cocaine in the Rockford area.

Their investigation led them to develop Simmons and Wells as suspects…
