Greenberg and Dofflemyer dominate Greater Rockford Golf Classic

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — The final round of the three-day, three-round Greater Rockford Men’s and Women’s Golf Classic was no contest. Eva Greenberg and Robert Dofflemyer III saw to that. Greenberg won the women’s competition by 11 strokes. Dofflemyer won the men’s championship division by 10 strokes.Greenberg shot two under par at each of the three courses they played on. She shot 69 Friday at Ingersoll, then 69 again Saturday at Sandy Hollow. Sunday, she finished with a 70 on the par 72 Aldeen Golf Club course. Greenberg has been on a roll. The former Boylan Titan won the Aldeen Cup two weeks ago. This is her first Greater Rockford Classic Championship. Her older sister Ella won it last year and three years ago.Dofflemyer started the final round of the men’s competition with a seven-stroke lead. He wasn’t as sharp as he was Friday when he shot a 62 at Ingersoll which was one stroke off the course record (61 set by TJ Baker in 2019), and Saturday when he shot 67 at Sandy…..
