Applications, sign-ups open for Stroll on State

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Applications are open for vendors, parade participants, volunteers and the Dasher Dash 5K at the 13th annual Stroll on State.

Stroll on State takes place from 2-9 p.m., Nov. 29 in downtown Rockford. The event includes a parade, tree lighting, drone show, live music, vendors, fireworks and more family fun.

According to GoRockford, more than 4,000 volunteer hours are needed to make Stroll on State possible and keep it free for the community. Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Santa’s Workshop: Tuesdays 6-9 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m.-noon beginning September 16 at 310 S. Winnebago Street to make and repair decorations.
  • Decoration Days: November 21-22, volunteers decorate the tree and downtown Rockford.
  • Event Day: Shifts are typically in three-hour windows between 6 a.m. and midnight.
