ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — The Guilford Vikings weren’t expected to be challenged Saturday night by the Belvidere Bucs, but the Bucs had other ideas. The Bucs battled the Vikings hard all night before losing 28-11. The Vikings led only 7-3 at halftime on a two-yard touchdown run by Chris Porter that the Bucs answered with a field goal.In the second half, Messiah Tilson sparked the Vikings with a catch and run touchdown to put Guilford up 14-3. The Vikings added two more touchdowns including a great second-effort run by Ryan Maher to up 21-3. Both teams scored once more before time expired.Guilford improves to 1-1 on the season.
