Northern Illinois Weather Alert: Dense Morning Fog Reduces Visibility Sunday

Chicago, IL – Drivers across northern Illinois are waking up to dense fog this Sunday morning, with visibility reduced to a quarter mile or less in several areas. According to the US National Weather Service Chicago, the fog is expected to linger through mid-morning before gradually clearing after sunrise.

The heaviest fog has been reported in interior northern Illinois, particularly around Rockford, Aurora, and surrounding communities. Motorists are advised to slow down, allow extra travel time, and increase following distance to avoid accidents. Hazardous travel conditions may persist until around 9 a.m.
