OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center spreads awareness about peripheral artery disease

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – One in every 20 Americans over the age of 50 has Peripheral Artery Disease, or PAD, a condition that raises the risk for heart attack and stroke.

PAD happens when extra cholesterol and other fats build up in the walls of the arteries, restricting blood flow.
