ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Allen Chapel AME Church brought the runway to downtown Rockford with its 2nd Annual Unity Fashion Show on Saturday, October 11.
The event took place at the Nordlof Center, located at 118 N. Main Street in Rockford. Organizers say the fashion show featured local models from across the city and highlighted a theme of unity through style and self-expression.
This year also marked the first time men participated in the fashion show, adding a new energy and excitement to the event.
“I enjoy seeing the community coming together and people coming together and just enjoying themselves and doing what they do best and that love can bring us together,” said Reverend Dr. John Halbert. “The fashion is something that goes in and comes out but yet it is still able to draw everyone together.”…
