ROCKFORD — A series of stained-glass mosaics around the region are designed to raise awareness for birds threatened by climate change while giving students their first piece of lasting public art.
The Rockford Area Arts Council partnered with the Sinnissippi Audubon Society and Rockford Park District for this summer’s Spark! Mosaic program to create new works of public art at three locations around Winnebago County. The pieces were made by middle and high school students under the guidance of Susan Burton, a mosaic artist from Marseilles.
