Suspect in Freeport drug investigation arrested after leading police on chase

FREEPORT, Ill. (WTVO) — A suspected Freeport drug dealer led pursuing officers on a chase when they arrived at his home to arrest him on Monday afternoon.

According to Freeport Police, the Emergency Response Team went to a residence in the 600 block of E. Winneshiek Street around 12:22 p.m. to serve a search warrant, and spotted the suspect, 49-year-old David Thurman, leaving the property in a silver Chevrolet Yukon.

Police said Thurman led officers on a pursuit that circled the area and eventually ended back near the house, where the pursuit ended and Thurman was taken into custody…
