CARROLL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, Ill — Four years after the disappearance of Melissa Trumpy, investigators say the case remains active as law enforcement agencies continue to follow new leads.
Trumpy, who lived in Monticello, Wisconsin, was last seen the night of Oct. 26, 2021, and is believed to have been in Shannon, Illinois, around the time she went missing. Her vehicle was later found abandoned on Bolton Road in Stephenson County.
The investigation began Oct. 27, 2021, after her boyfriend, Derek Hammer, was taken into custody by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office on outstanding warrants from Green County, Wisconsin. Authorities have not charged Hammer in connection with the case…
