Rockford couple works to create downtown’s next family destination

ROCKFORD — A local couple is working to transform a once vacant industrial building into downtown’s newest destination for families.

Cahoots Rockford is coming to 505 N. Madison St. with a mix of arcade games, mini putt, duckpin bowling and other activities for people of all ages. It fills the former Coca-Cola bottling plant across the street from the Prairie Street Brewhouse. The family entertainment center is the vision of Megan Huels, who’s been developing the concept for years with her husband, Brian Huels.

“The goal is to be the place to hang out, and to have something going on all the time so that it’s not just one thing that you would go for,” she said…
