Men’s Bowling Places Fourth at Great Lakes Open

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The University of St. Francis varsity men’s bowling team came away with a fourth-place finish among 11 squads competing at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Great Lakes Open on Saturday, while its reserve squad also placed fourth following seven traditional and 16 Baker games.

The varsity team totaled 5,828 pins knocked down over the combined 31 games, while Aquinas College (Mich.) led the way at 6,123. Indiana Tech place second overall with a score of 5,995, while Lawrence Tech followed at 5,927. On the reserve front, St. Francis’ team totaled 5,475 pins.

Individually, one Saint finished in the Top 10 out of 126 total bowlers. Headlining St. Francis was Trevor Anifer in ninth place with his 202.3 average. His best round was a 235 in Game 1 and finished 62 pins shy of first place finisher David Schaberg of Aquinas…
