Rockford native Michelle Williams, of Destiny’s Child, receives Grammy nomination for Broadway album

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford native Michelle Williams, best known as one-third of the iconic group Destiny’s Child, has added another milestone to her illustrious career: a Grammy nomination for Best Musical Theater Album at the upcoming 68th Annual Grammy Awards.

The nod comes for her work on the Broadway cast recording of Death Becomes Her, a musical adaptation of the 1992 Robert Zemeckis film that starred Bruce Willis, Meryl Streep, and Goldie Hawn.

This marks Williams’ eighth career Grammy nomination. She previously won as part of Destiny’s Child, in 2002, for the song “Survivor.”…
