LOVES PARK, Ill. (WTVO) — The Harlem School District is weighing a major restructuring plan that could include closing two elementary schools to address declining enrollment and a budget deficit exceeding $3 million.
Under the proposal, Olson Park Elementary and Maple Elementary would shut their doors, with students reassigned to other schools within the district. The plan also calls for students to attend schools in two-year grade spans, a move aimed at streamlining resources and improving efficiency.
