Cherry Valley man handed 17-year sentence for meth, cocaine distribution

CHERRY VALLEY, Ill. — A Cherry Valley man will spend more than fifteen years in prison for distributing nearly a pound and a half of meth over a three-month period in late 2023.

Prosecutor said Sean Claeyssen, a 35-year-old Cherry Valley resident, pleaded guilty earlier this year to one count of distribution of more than 50 grams of methamphetamine and one count of illegally possessing a firearm as a previously convicted felon.

According to prosecutors, Claeyssen admitted in a plea agreement that he had knowingly and intentionally sold and distributed 664.6 grams of methamphetamine and 27.7 grams of cocaine between October and December of 2023…
