Fire on Triton Ave. in Rockford causes $70K in damage

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A family is displaced following a house fire Thursday afternoon in Rockford.

Around 2 p.m. Nov. 20, crews were called to a fire at an apartment complex in the 500 block of Triton Avenue.

Captain Steven Rhoads with the Rockford Fire Department says companies found heavy smoke coming from a first-floor apartment. Crews had the fire under control in about 15 minutes.

Rhoads says one tenant was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported…
