Camper trailer, with slide-outs extended, causes damage to passing car on Illinois Route 2

BYRON, Ill. (WTVO) — Ogle County police said a woman, towing a camper trailer with the slide-outs fully extended, caused damage to a passing driver due to the oversized nature of her cargo.

According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, at 4:20 p.m. on Thursday, November 20th, deputies were called to the scene of a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of N. Illinois Route 2 and N. River Drive.

Investigators determined that June Winters, 59, of West Brooklyn, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Route 2, towing the large camper trailer, when the camper struck the mirror of a northbound 2020 Cadillac XT4, driven by a Rockford man…
