Chicago man charged with threatening State Sen. Andrew Chesney

FREEPORT, Ill. (WTVO) — A Chicago man has been arrested after allegedly threatening State Sen. Andrew Chesney.

According to the Illinois State Police, Joseph Haggerty, 59, was arrested on Tuesday on charges of threatening a public official.

Authorities said the Republican senator notified police of the threats he received from Haggerty on September 2nd. After an investigation was conducted, the Stephenson County State’s Attorney issued a warrant for Haggerty’s arrest on Monday, November 24th…
