ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The City of Rockford’s Code and Regulation Committee voted Monday night to postpone a decision on a proposed McDonald’s restaurant at 1869 North Perryville Road, following a lengthy discussion over site design and aesthetics.
The project, backed by Permit Solutions for McDonald’s, seeks a special use permit for a fast-food restaurant with a drive-thru and a variation to allow a trash enclosure within the front yard setback in a C-2 Limited Commercial zoning district.
While city staff and the Zoning Board of Appeals recommended approval, several aldermen raised concerns about the visibility of dumpsters near the intersection of Perryville Road and Railroad Avenue.
