1 treated, 2 dogs escape after house fire in Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A house fire Monday morning causes tens of thousands of dollars in damage, Cherry Valley fire officials say.

Around 9:30 a.m. Dec. 1, multiple fire crews were called to the 6100 block of Mission Trail in Rockford for a report of a house fire with someone possibly trapped inside. When firefighters got to the scene, they found heavy smoke coming from the back of the home.

The home, which is within the Cherry Valley Fire Protection District, was later found to be empty and crews were able to control the fire in under 20 minutes. Officials say 29 firefighters from multiple fire agencies across the region were…..
