Freeport’s Re-Fresh program to continue in 2026

FREEPORT, Ill. (WTVO) — The city of Freeport announced it will run Re-Fresh Freeport again for 2026.

“If you see a pile of garbage that’s not very pleasing to the eye, it doesn’t make you feel extremely safe,” said communications director Bryan Bridge.

In 2024, the city experienced a crisis in illegal dumping, so they initiated Re-Fresh Freeport in January 2025, where Freeport residents can bring bulk items to Gill’s Freeport Disposal for free on the first Saturday of each month…
