Nik’s Wish surprises a young man with granting his wish

ROCKFORD Ill., (WTVO) — A young man fighting a rare form of cancer got his wish fulfilled today at Nik’s Wish, and it was all a surprise. Nik’s Wish loves to grant wishes for young adults battling cancer.

25-year-old, Grant Sundstrom, is fighting a rare form of cancer called malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor. The tumor caused him to lose his right arm. “It makes up around less than 2% of all cancers, which is incredibly rare, and it grew quickly,” said Sundstrom.

Sundstrom’s girlfriend, Kenzie Hinshaw, set up the surprise wish for him with the help of Chief Joy Officer of Nik’s Wish, Kelli Ritschel Bohele. His friends and family teamed up to keep this secret from him. “It’s just so great when I just see that smile on their face.
