SOUTH BELOIT — TreeHouse Foods Inc., the Illinois-based publicly traded company that is being sold to an investment firm from England, confirmed Wednesday that it is closing its South Beloit cookie plant, eliminating about 150 Stateline Area jobs.
“We are closing our South Beloit facility, a decision that was announced prior and unrelated to the pending acquisition of the company,” Howard Karesh, chief communications officer for TreeHouse Foods, said in an email. “We don’t yet have a specific closure date, but we do plan to file a WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) notice at the appropriate time.”
