Slidematic expands Rockford plant with $7.9M investment

Slidematic Precision Components is celebrating a major expansion in Rockford.

The company, which specializes in custom-engineered cold headed fasteners, has invested $7.9 million in a 46,000-square-foot addition to its existing 166,000-square-foot facility, according to a community announcement. The expansion is expected to create 25 jobs, with potential for more in the future.

“Slidematic’s continued growth is not only a win for the company, but for Rockford as a community,” Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara said in the announcement. “It’s exciting to see one of our cold formers expand, continuing the legacy of Rockford as the Screw Capital of the World.
