ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The first meeting of a new Rockford Family Chapter takes place Saturday, bringing together local children and teens who stutter.
From noon to 3 p.m., Dec. 3, youth and their families were welcomed to the Carlson Ice Rink, 4150 N. Perryville Rd. in Loves Park, to celebrate the chapter’s launch and connect over shared experiences.
The National Stuttering Association launched this chapter with a mission to support youth who stutter and offer a welcoming space for them to find community, build confidence and know they’re not alone.
It will also serve as a valuable resource for parents and families, offering opportunities to swap stories and knowledge, as well as strengthen support systems…
