ISP Troop 1 Announces Results of December’s Special Patrols

PECATONICA – Illinois State Police (ISP) Troop 1 Commander, Captain Joseph Blanchette, has announced the results of two special patrols in Whiteside and Winnebago counties during December.

Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement (ACE) patrols allowed the ISP to focus on preventing, detecting, and taking enforcement action in response to violations associated with impaired driving and illegal transportation or consumption of alcohol or drugs.

  • Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Citations – 0
  • Other Alcohol/Drug Citations – 1
  • Occupant Restraint Offenses – 3
  • Registration Offenses – 19
  • Driver’s License Offenses – 3
  • Insurance Violations – 12
  • Total Citations – 76
  • Total Arrests – 3
  • Total Written Warnings – 34

Alcohol and drug impairment are estimated to be a factor in more than 47% of all fatal motor vehicle crashes in Illinois.
