- Spotty snow this evening
- Cold start to our Sunday
- Warmer times to start next week
(WIFR) – It’s been a wet start to our weekend with a wintry mix falling earlier this morning. Temperatures ran around 1 to 2 degrees above what was expected, so most of the precipitation that fell was rain. Rockford recorded nearly a quarter of an inch of precipitation.
This evening, we’ll see a bit more opportunities for a few flakes as some convective snow showers develop. These will be a bit sparse and not widespread, but with a decent amount of moisture, we could see maybe a quick half an inch fall in some areas. I still think that most of the snow will melt on contact with how warm it’s been this past week, so we shouldn’t have any travel impacts.
