Plan for new McDonald’s on W. State Street fails at city council

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – In an attempt to get money from the city to bring in another location, McDonald’s and an investment group fall short at city council.

First Midwest Group and McDonald’s asked the City of Rockford for $200,000 to develop its new location, but city council voted against it in a 2-3 vote.

The proposed lump sum would have come from revenue generated by the Hard Rock Casino, specifically money meant to develop “high-risk” areas…
