Duane Meyer trial: Video of 2016 interrogation shown to jury

OREGON, Ill. (WIFR) – Prosecutors show a nearly three-hour-long video of the interrogation of Duane Meyer Tuesday during the fifth day of the Byron man’s trial.

Meyer, 43, is accused of starting a fire at a home on Oct. 19, 2016, killing his ex-wife Maggie and their 3-year-old son, Amos.

During the video, detectives with the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office asked Meyer’s questions about his divorce and what Meyer did when he arrived at the house the day of the fire.

During the interview, authorities presented a phone record that shows a ping from Meyer’s phone in Byron. In the video, Meyer can be heard denying it multiple times…
