ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Rockford City Council did not approve funding for a new McDonald’s on West State Street, money the developers claimed was needed to make the project a reality. Council members ultimately postponed a final decision on the project.
At Rockford City Council on Tuesday night, aldermen were divided and uncertain about what, exactly, they were voting on.
The request involved a development agreement with First Midwest Group/Machesney Investments LLC to support the construction of a McDonald’s restaurant at 4103 W. State Street using casino economic development funds designated for high-risk reinvestment areas…
