Rockford public schools offer 4% annual salary raise in contract negotiations

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Public Schools District 205 said progress was made during contract negotiations with teachers this week, following a lengthy bargaining session that came just hours after educators warned the school board of a possible strike.

In a statement released on Thursday, the district said negotiations with the Rockford Education Association (REA) resulted in “meaningful dialogue.”

“These conversations are complex and often challenging,” the district said, “but when both sides come to the table ready to listen and problem-solve, real progress can be made.”…
