The Rockford area remains under a hazardous weather outlook and cold weather advisory as it enters the final week of January.
According to the National Weather Service, the region faces an elevated excessive cold risk with wind chills expected to be as around 20 to 25 degrees below zero overnight Jan. 25 and into the morning of Jan. 26.
