Deer caught in plastic bucket generates concern for Janesville community

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) – A deer with a plastic bucket stuck on its head has prompted at least a dozen calls to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in Rock County.

The deer has been spotted multiple times near Pershing Park on Janesville’s southwest side. Rock County conservation ward Kyle Johnson said the urban location has led to increased sightings.

“With this deer being in right in the city of Janesville, a lot of people are probably seeing it,” he said. “We even had one person see it run down the road.”

The DNR’s primary concern is the deer’s welfare. Johnson said the bucket prevents the animal from eating and drinking properly…
