Over 10 grams of crack cocaine seized in Rockford traffic stop

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Over 10 grams of crack cocaine were recovered, and a Rockford man was arrested after he reportedly tried to escape from police during a traffic stop.

According to Rockford Police, officers with the Specialized Community Oriented Police Enforcement (SCOPE) unit attempted to stop a car near W. State and Avon around 7 p.m., but the driver tried to drive away.
