House fire in Belvidere caused by fireplace, spreads to roof and attic

BELVIDERE, Ill. (WTVO) — A house fire in Belvidere leaves a home uninhabitable Sunday evening.

Fire Chief Shawn Shadle of City of Belvidere Fire Department, stated all Boone County engines responded to the 400 Block of E. Perry Street for a call about a house fire around 5:30 p.m. The fire started from the fireplace which then spread to the roof and attic. They also responded to a medical call while they were there. No firefighters or civilians injured…
