A cry for help: Loves Park family pleads for return of dad detained in Guinea

LOVES PARK, Ill. (WIFR) – A race against the clock and a cry for help. A family in Loves Park says a loved one is imprisoned in a third-world country with no evidence against him.

It’s been months since 63-year-old freelance pilot Brad Schlenker set foot on U.S. soil.

His ex-wife Kerrie and their son Bradley, one of four siblings, express desperation to bring him home after they say Brad and his co-pilot, 33-year-old Fabio Nunez of New Jersey, were detained in Guinea.

Kerrie explains that on December 28, Brad and Fabio were contracted to fly a family of five to Dubai with a planned stop to refuel in Guinea. She says Brad is a by-the-book pilot who would not have even started the engines without filing their flight plan and getting approval…
