LOVES PARK, Ill. (WIFR) – Authorities announced on Feb. 12 that the commercial fire on Nimtz Rd. in Loves Park was accidental, and started during automotive repairs being done inside the shop.
Just after 2:30 p.m., Feb. 11, crews went out to a call of a fire at Midwest Trailer Repair Services. When crews arrived they found heavy black smoke and flames coming from the building.
Due to the extent of the fire, crews requested additional support from surrounding fire stations. Firefighters from at least nine other stations came out to help battle the flames.
Firefighters were able to save parts of the structure and prevent the flames from spreading to nearby buildings…
